The Mystery School / Illumination

Music is called a divine or celestial art, not only because it is in itself a universal religion, but because of its fineness in comparison with all other arts and sciences. Every sacred scripture, holy picture or spoken word produces the impression of its identity upon the mirror of the soul, but music stands before the soul without producing any impression of this objective world in either name or form, thus preparing the soul to realize the infinite.

The Mysticism of Sound and Music Hazrat Inayat Khan

The Mystery School is--as its name implies--musically ethereal and otherworldly. Its music is soft, even perhaps understated, but uses unorthodox instrumentation. The lyrical content is equally unorthodox--a poetic revision of insights from various branches of forbidden knowledge which include alchemy and the occult. The Mystery School is a revolving collective led by Carlos Boll.

Duparc is a collaboration with singer Isabella Piombo which draws from classical songs of the romantic period and late 60's British folk.

Both of these projects will continue to evolve and grow to a unique end.
